The NAB Finance Department manages Borough expenditures, revenues, investments, accounting, budgeting and debt. NAB’s Finance Department also prepares reports to the State of Alaska on grant expenditures, expenditures paid for reimbursable bond proceeds, and Federal grant expenditures. Other reports are compiled on an as needed basis.
The Finance Department is also responsible for all payments including our assistance programs. As of January 2018, checks will only be run on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Property Tax Information
The Northwest Arctic Borough does not levy a property tax. Under Section 11.03 of the Borough Charter, Borough voters must approve the enactment of any Borough property tax. Therefore, no “excess funds,” property tax roll, property sale information, assessments, or any such lists are maintained by the Borough.
