On Friday, May 25, the Northwest Arctic Borough met with representatives from the North Slope Borough at Nullagvik. They mainly discussed the upcoming Joint Assembly Meeting that will be taking place in Utqiaqvik (Barrow) in July. They talked about past resolutions that will be reviewed at the July meeting and discussed other items that will be addressed by the assemblies. They also brought up items like the Ambler Mining Road and North Slope Borough staff were able to provide some insight through their history with the Dalton Highway. Both also shared projects that are currently underway in each region. The Northwest Arctic Borough would like to thank the North Slope Borough for coming to Kotzebue and are looking forward to continue the partnership between the regions. The North Slope Borough representatives included the Mayor Harry Brower, Assembly President John Hopson Jr, and employees.
