SHELTER CABINS ARE PROVIDED FOR YOUR SAFETY!
When using a shelter cabin, remember:
- This shelter cabin is the property of the Northwest Arctic Borough. Failure to follow the basic guidelines as set fourth can result in criminal charges being pressed and restitution being paid.
- Before using the wood stoves, please check the chimney to make sure it is free of snow to prevent smoke asphyxiation & remember to re-stock the wood supply so the next person can keep warm too.
- Be sure to clean up the cabin! Sweep it out, properly dump your honey bucket, etc.
- Do not leave food and/or trash in the cabins so that bears and other critters are not enticed to gain entry... either burn your trash or haul out what you haul in!
- Consumption of alcoholic beverages & use of illicit drugs is strictly prohibited.
- Use of explosive devices, such as fireworks is strictly prohibited.
Please use care when in the shelter cabins... damaging, defacing or removing objects (such as wood stoves, etc.) from a shelter cabin is strictly prohibited.
