      Meeting

The Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly met and held a Regular meeting on July 27, 2004.  Assembly President Suzy Erlich called the meeting to order at 1:06 P.M.  A quorum was present to conduct business.

The Assembly took the following actions:

1.      Enacted  Ordinance 04-04    an ordinance of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly revising provisions pertaining to the Economic Development Advisory Board and for related purposes.

The Assembly passed the following Resolutions:

1.         Passed Resolution 04-18   a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough

Assembly authorizing the acceptance of funds from State of Alaska, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

 2.        Passed Resolution 04-19   a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly affirming the mayors appointment to the Northwest Arctic Borough Planning Commission.

3.      Passed Resolution 04-20      a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly authorizing the disposal of certain borough public records and for related purposes. 

4.         Passed Resolution 04-21   a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly approving the map of the proposed Front Street Historic District, Shore Avenue, and the Historic District Boundary established therein.

5.         Passed Resolution 04-22   a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly authorizing approval of a lease of borough property to UIC Construction to provide for an indoor parking and storage facility and for related purposes.

6.         Passed Resolution 04-23   a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly authorizing the mayor to enter into a Professional Services Contract with Porath Tatom Architects, Inc., for design work and construction document preparation for the Borough Office Parking Garage Addition Project, and for related purposes.

7.         Deputy Borough Clerk Antoinette Johnson conducted Oath of Office for newly appointed Planning Commissioners Ronnie Hunnicutt and Carol Wesley.

The next regular Assembly meeting will be on September 27-28, 2004, with committee meetings held on September 27, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. for committee meetings and the Work session and Regular meetings held on September 28 at 9:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. at the Borough Assembly Chambers in Kotzebue, Alaska.
