The Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly met on December 6, 2011 at the Assembly Chambers in Kotzebue, Alaska. President Walter G. Sampson called the Regular Meeting to order at 1:13 P.M. A quorum was present to conduct business.
The Assembly took the following actions:
EXCUSAL Assembly Members Ms. Lucy Nelson and Ms. Emma Ahvakana excused from the December 6, 2011 Regular Assembly Meeting. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Regular meeting minutes of November 11, 2011. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
RESOLUTIONS
1. Resolution 11-53 a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly authorizing execution of a lease for office space in Buckland and for related purposes. Tabled until the next Regular Meeting.
2. Resolution 11-54 a resolution supporting the initiative to reinstitute the Alaska Coastal Management Program. Tabled until the next Regular Meeting.
3. Resolution 11-55 a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly accepting the State Fiscal Year 2011 Grant from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Parks and outdoor Recreation, Recreational Trails Program in the amount of $50,000.00 for Winter Trail Staking and for related purposes. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
4. Resolution 11-56 a resolution of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly, authorizing a professional services contract with WHPacific for design consulting services and for related purposes. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
PUBLIC HEARINGS, ENACTMENT OF ORDINANCES AND EMERGENCY ORDINANCES
1. Ordinance 11-02am01 an ordinance of the Northwest Arctic
Borough Assembly providing for the establishment and adoption of the line item budget amendment for the fiscal year 2012. Tabled until the next Regular Meeting.
2. Ordinance 11-10 an ordinance of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly amending chapter 4.04.070 of The Northwest Arctic Borough Code, pertaining to the election of borough officials, and for related purposes. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY
NEXT MEETING DATE
The next Regular Meeting date of January 23-24, 2012 will be held in Kotzebue, Alaska with Committee meetings starting at 1:00 p.m. on January 23, 2012 and the Work Session and Regular meeting starting on January 24, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively. PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
